MetzRemote offers a user experience that closely resembles the ease of use traditionally associated with Metz devices, now conveniently accessible via smartphones and tablets. The application supports an array of Metz Classic series devices, including the FA series (Cubus, Taris, Aurus, Lunis), FB series (Cubus compact), TY series (Micos, Fineo, Taris, Aurus, Topas, Lunis, Alegra, Calea, Cubus), TX series (Planea, Topas, Novum, Micos, Fineo), and TW series (Merio, Solea, Topas, Primus, Pureo, Clarea, Planea). However, it is important to note that the app does not support Metz Blue models such as the Metz Icon.

Implementation considerations include ensuring that both mobile device and television are connected to the same network and configuring the TV to allow MetzRemote through Menu/Network/Local services by enabling "Allow 'MetzRemote' app".

The application encompasses a suite of functionalities designed to enhance user interaction with Metz televisions:

• Remote Control: Facilitates intuitive control of the TV with up to 30 selectable functions for streamlined navigation; station and favorite list browsing with a single click; simplified text input via mobile keyboard; and website management with in-app saving and web access features.
• EPG - Electronic Program Guide: Provides an overview of current and upcoming broadcasts from designated favorite lists; users can set recordings or reminders for desired programs.
• Internet Timer: Enables on-the-go scheduling of recordings through a smart web interface.
• Station Editor: Offers straightforward management of favorite channels—adding, moving, or removing stations—and allows bulk operations through multi-selection; also supports direct editing such as renaming.
• Wake On LAN: Allows powering on the TV from standby mode or remotely activating other compatible devices using Wake-on-LAN technology.
• Mediaserver: Supports streaming local images and music to your Metz TV; also enables viewing PVR recordings, live TV streams, or media from external DLNA servers on your mobile device—functionality may require proper device configuration.

Practical guidance for users includes:

• The "OK" button centrally located on the main screen replaces traditional cursor navigation; swipe gestures are recognized with haptic feedback for enhanced usability.
• Button sizes can be adjusted via pinch-to-zoom gestures within the main view.
• A dedicated button on the bottom right grants access to additional functions not displayed upfront.
• Functionally, users can reorganize controls through drag-and-drop interactions.
• Saving websites in "Weblinks" is facilitated through sharing options via Safari browser.

The app's EPG synchronization feature allows current program data to be updated by tapping the 'sync' icon; users can select preferred lists within settings. For recording outside the local network—such as through Internet Timer—users must register their TV and account beforehand. When disconnected from the local network, initiating a record will redirect to Internet Timer for scheduling. Timer management is split between app-generated timers and those created via Internet Timer's web interface.

To activate Internet Timer services: navigate to Home/Menu/Network/Internet services/Internet Timer on your TV; registration will generate an activation code saved during EPG sync for seamless account linkage.

Managing station lists involves synchronization with TV settings—caution is advised to back up existing data before applying modifications through export/export functions. Long-pressing entries permits moving multiple stations or editing their details such as renaming or removal.

The Mediaserver feature requires enabling 'Allow Mediaplayer' in Menu/Network/Local services and setting 'Media Server' status to active; updating your TV’s firmware is recommended for optimal performance.
